Civil Foreperson Job Description

About the Role:

NorLand Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Foreperson to join our team in Victoria. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for overseeing the safety and performance of our teams on various projects, including city, urban pipe laying, and road building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead from the front lines, directing the work and being with your crew at all times
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications to provide clear instructions to the crew
  • Maintain daily records, including crew and equipment time, material receiving, productions, and summary of activity on site
  • Provide training and ensure the development of the crew
  • Plan ahead with Superintendents to ensure materials and resources are in place ahead of the work
  • Act as a working foreperson if needed
  • Work in a safe and respectful manner on company and client job sites
  • Operate as a productive member of a high-functioning team

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience leading crews on civil projects
  • Safety knowledge and experience in the construction industry (WorkSafe Regulations, industry best practices)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • First aid is considered an asset
  • Fit to work – ability to see, hear, walk, stand, and lift up to 50lbs
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Willingness to work in varied weather conditions
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed by project requirements

Compensation:

Expected wage range: 39.32 – 43.00 per hour (exact compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal equity, and other criterion)
