Job Title: Plumber Apprentice

We are seeking a skilled Plumber Apprentice to join our team at Rodwell Mechanical. As a Plumber Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting experienced plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Schedule personnel, tools, and equipment to ensure efficient job completion.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Supervise other workers as needed.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a plumbing trade certification program or equivalent experience.
  • Backflow prevention certification.
  • Plumber trade certification.
  • Working at heights training.
  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) clearance certificate.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate.
  • Level two, three, four, or five apprenticeship training.
  • Specialized environmental skills and knowledge.
  • Bondable.
  • Basic security clearance.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Driving record check (abstract).
