Early Childhood Educator Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the YMCA Robert Ogilvie Care and Learning Centre. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
  • Assist in planning and implementing daily activities, including arts, crafts, and outdoor play.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, adhering to all Child Care Licensing Regulations and YMCA Child Protection Policies.
  • Collaborate with the staff team to deliver a high-quality program that meets the needs of all children.

Requirements:

  • Current and valid Early Childhood Educator License to Practice.
  • Three satisfactory professional references and experience working with children in a child care/recreational setting.
  • Current child care First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain and Satisfactory Criminal Record and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search.
