Job Title: Licensed Truck and Coach Technician

Join our team as a Licensed Truck and Coach Technician at Lafarge Canada Inc. in Northern Ontario. As a key member of our Ready Mix Operations, you will be responsible for performing inspections, diagnostic tests, and general vehicle repair on our fleet of trucks and coaches.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and coaches to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment to identify potential hazards and take corrective action.
  • Manage work orders and assist in cost tracking, invoice reconciliation, and third-party repair pricing.
  • Coordinate with area plants superintendents and dispatches for scheduling of routine maintenance and repair, and annual inspections.
  • Perform work on trucks and coaches yourself, as well as schedule outside vendors as needed.
Requirements:
  • Valid Truck and Coach (T) License.
  • Valid DZ Drivers License with a clean abstract (an asset).
  • Own Hand Tools and Tool Box.
  • Ready mix experience with London and McNelius mixers (an asset).
  • Welding and Hydraulic systems experience (an asset).
  • Experience with Theam/Ready mix concrete conveyors (an asset).
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Fleet experience preferred.
  • Computer knowledge utilizing email and Microsoft Excel (an asset).
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs & ladders, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and smell.
  • Occasionally required to work in awkward situations, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:

Employee must perform work outdoors in all weather conditions and will work around moving mechanical parts and equipment. Various PPE will include safety boots, reflective clothing, safety glasses, gloves, and a hard hat. Additional PPE may be required depending on tasks.
