Job OverviewWe're seeking an experienced Senior Technical Systems Lead or Electro-Mechanical System Developer to join our interdisciplinary engineering team in Ottawa, ON. The successful candidate will lead the development of specifications and plans that enable successful system realization.
Job DescriptionThe role involves leading the development of specifications and plans that provide the means to enable the realization of successful systems with focus on defining customer needs and required functionality early in the development cycle. Key responsibilities include:
- Documenting requirements, leading efforts in design synthesis, definition of hardware and software configuration items, trade-off analysis, and sub-system and system validation.
- Ensuring technical elements of system design are coordinated to ensure all parts of the system design are integrated, coherent, and achieve an effective system.
- Reviewing, developing, and documenting system-level operational concepts and mission statements.
- Developing, allocating, and managing complex systems-level requirements.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a system engineering role dealing with safety-critical radio and/or telecommunications systems designed for use in harsh environments.
- Solid understanding of system-level concepts and the ability to use them for system analysis, specification writing, trade-off management, and requirements management and traceability.
This role offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience.
