Job Summary
The Medical Device Reprocessing Technician will be responsible for reprocessing reusable medical devices and equipment, scopes, and supplies in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work in a rotation through all shifts and areas, including Endoscopy/Cystoscopy, Surgery Treatment Clinic, and Medical Device Reprocessing.
Key Responsibilities
- Reprocess reusable medical devices and equipment, scopes, and supplies
- Work in a rotation through all shifts and areas
- Ensure attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
- Collaborate with the Medical Device Reprocessing team to achieve quality and efficiency goals
Requirements
- Grade 12 Education or equivalent
- Recognized Medical Device Reprocessing College Course with placement, MDRAO Techniques Course, or Valid CMDRT Certificate
- At least one year of recent and relevant MDRD/Scope Reprocessing experience
- Basic understanding of Microbiology, Quality Control process, and ability to deliver high-quality results
- Basic data entry and computer knowledge
- Strong knowledge of instrument tracking and material management software
- Ability to lift 11.3kg/25lbs regularly, push/pull heavy carts, stand, and walk for long periods
- Ability to rotate through all shifts and positions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate commitment to ethical accountability
