Associate Director, Client Financial Reporting

Location: Mississauga Location, Orbitor

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead our Client Financial Reporting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements for investment funds, including hedge funds, private equity funds, and mutual funds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare interim and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and Canadian ASPE.
  • Review financial statements prepared by junior team members for accuracy and completeness.
  • Liaise with internal parties, auditors, and investment fund managers during financial statement preparation and audit.
  • Share expertise and provide recommendations to clients on financial reporting requirements.
  • Lead special projects and participate fully as a leader and member of the team.
  • Stay current on changes to accounting and regulatory requirements for investment funds and financial instruments.
  • Provide training and oversight to junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in preparing, reviewing, or auditing financial statements for investment funds.
  • 3+ years of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to work independently, under pressure, and with attention to detail to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional accounting designation (preferred).
