About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sprinkler System Fitter to join our team at HAVEN FIRE PROTECTION LTD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing sprinkler systems to ensure the safety of our clients and their properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule materials, tools, and personnel to ensure efficient project completion
  • Instruct apprentices in the installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems
  • Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment
  • Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems and sprinkler and fire protection equipment
  • Install valves, alarms, and associated equipment
  • Join pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipment
  • Service and repair sprinkler systems
  • Supervise other workers to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently
  • Test systems for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment
  • Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush systems
  • Cut openings for pipes in walls, floors, and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems
  • Select type and size of pipe required
  • Test systems for leaks using testing equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in sprinkler system installation and maintenance
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
