Junior Transportation Inspector

As a Junior Transportation Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of our transportation projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting field inspections, documenting site activities, and providing support to our senior inspection staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field inspections to ensure conformance to contract requirements
  • Document site activities and obtain relevant information on contractor operations
  • Provide support to senior inspection staff as required
  • Assist with quality assurance field survey activities
  • Monitor contractor quality control activities
  • Compile field data in report form for review by the contract administration team
  • Assist with quality assurance sampling and testing tasks
  • Provide quantity/payment verification support as needed

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology/Technician or equivalent
  • Designation as a Road Construction Junior Inspector (rcji) Technology/Technician is an asset
  • Previous engineering/construction experience is an asset
  • Prior experience working on MTO projects or municipal infrastructure projects
  • Registration as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T. or Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEO
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Able to work on weekends, nights, shift work, additional hours as required
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • A valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Able to travel and work in the greater Ottawa and surrounding area
