Room Attendant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our housekeeping team as a Room Attendant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our guest rooms meet the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clean and attractive guestrooms, including making beds, changing linens, cleaning, dusting, polishing, and vacuuming.
  • Focus on details to ensure windows are shining, towels are folded correctly, supplies are restocked, closets are neat and clean with the right amount of hangers, etc.
  • Be organized and ensure your housekeeping closet and cart area are ready to go.
  • Work as a team player to help your coworkers, pitch in, train new staff, and participate in department events.
  • Be a Housekeeping Ambassador and share a warm greeting and a smile with all the guests you encounter.
  • Follow hotel safety and security policies and procedures, and anticipate problems and call management as needed.

Requirements:

  • Basic English communication skills.
  • Medium work - exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body and arms, work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
  • Near Vision - the ability to see details at close range.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Additional Job Details:

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with New Castle standards, as required by scheduling.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper business attire and nametag when working.
  • Comply at all times with New Castle standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Secure issued keys at all times, report lost or stolen keys immediately.
  • Follow proper SOP on entering and securing guest rooms.
  • Thoroughly clean and re-stock guestrooms to New Castle Standards.
  • Complete all pre-cleaning duties, including but not limited to, guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for housekeeping cart set-up.
  • Report all lost and found items to the Housekeeping Supervisor immediately.
  • Keep all hallways, public areas, and closets clean, neat, boomed, and vacuumed.
  • Prepare housekeeping cleaning cart for next day's use.
  • Report any maintenance repairs immediately to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
  • Complete all assigned cleaning duties in designated area.
  • Keep immediate supervisors fully informed of all challenges or matters requiring his/her attention.

Wage Scale: $17.06-$17.56
