GCS General Contracting Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Labourer to join our team in various locations. As a key member of our construction site operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient completion of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from construction sites.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt to meet project specifications.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications to ensure a smooth surface for construction.
  • Pave and rake asphalt to achieve a uniform finish.
  • Perform routine maintenance work on equipment and tools to prevent downtime.
  • Remove rubble and other debris from construction sites to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction to optimize performance.
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites to ensure safe worker and public access.
  • Signal safety procedures to other workers and the general public to prevent accidents.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and achieve a smooth finish.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons in various construction tasks to meet project deadlines.Requirements:
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in construction labouring or a related field.
    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including cold, hot, and dusty environments.
    • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in fast-paced environments.
    • Reliability and flexibility to adapt to changing construction site conditions.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to ensure safe and efficient project completion.
    • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required.
