Job Title: Construction Labourer

We are seeking a skilled Construction Labourer to join our team at GCS General Contracting Services Inc.

Job Summary:

The Construction Labourer will be responsible for assisting skilled tradespersons with various tasks on construction sites, including loading and unloading materials, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, and performing routine maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Pave and rake asphalt
  • Perform routine maintenance work
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
  • Signal safety procedures to other workers and to the general public
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
  • Assist skilled tradespersons
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically demanding work
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Handling heavy loads
  • Overtime required
