Francophone Affairs Commissioner

Job Summary:

The Francophone Affairs Commissioner will work closely with the Vice-President (Internal Affairs) to advise executives, represent students, and promote the francophone community at SSMU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise SSMU on the representation of the francophone community and issues affecting francophone students.
  • Assist with the translation of weekly listservs sent out by SSMU.
  • Represent the francophone community in SSMU and ensure their rights are respected.
  • Promote francophone aspects of McGill University to the student body.
  • Encourage francophone students to get involved in campus life.
  • Support initiatives from francophone students or groups recognized by SSMU.

Other Responsibilities:

Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice-President (Internal Affairs).

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the francophone community and SSMU.
  • Strong communication skills in English and French.
  • Highly organized and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

This is a paid position with a contract duration of approximately 12 months.

All matters related to SSMU and its constituent groups are to be kept confidential.
