Executive Communication Specialist

At the Ontario Medical Association, we are seeking a skilled Executive Communication Specialist to join our Advocacy, Communications and Marketing department. This role is a key part of our team, serving as an advisor to our business partners to drive our communications strategy and support various files.
About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced professional with superior news and executive-level writing skills, editing, presentation preparation and event support/coordination to ensure consistency with our brand strategy and standards. The ideal candidate will have experience developing robust communications strategies, and project oversight in delivering on those plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide communications advice, planning and support services to the organization to deliver on our mandate;
- Use your expertise to advise in planning and implementing outreach strategies that enable us to engage physician leaders, our constituencies, the general membership, physician organizations and others in a more direct manner in communities across the province and through multiple communications channels;
- Collaborate with senior management and staff from various departments to coordinate the implementation of integrated communication plans and products;
- Provide communication, training and coaching to staff in other departments.
- Minimum 6-9 years' experience in a senior communications role preferably with a professional advocacy, health care or issues management focus;
- Expert-level proficiency in a wide range of writing techniques, from preparing presentations, speeches, traditional and social media materials, event planning, etc., aligned to business goals;
- Top-notch relationship-management and interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and credibility with a wide range of staff and physician leaders;
- Excellent oral and written communications skills including presenting work to influence outcomes;
- Post-Secondary Diploma or post-graduate Certificate in Public Relations, Corporate Communications or Marketing or a related discipline with (one of) IABC or CPRS designation.
We have moved to a permanent hybrid work environment, and the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.
