About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Program Staff Assistant to join our team at Building Blocks Childcare Centres. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting the growth and development of young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with early childhood educators to design and implement engaging programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of children's progress and milestones.
  • Engage children in activities that foster creativity, learning, and exploration through storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Prepare healthy snacks and arrange rooms or furniture to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for meals and rest periods.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies for supporting children's needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, community service providers, and families to ensure seamless communication and support.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment by planning and implementing protocols to protect children's well-being.
Requirements
  • Diploma from a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program (1-2 years).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, reliability, dependability, flexibility, and efficiency.
  • Strong oral communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel regularly throughout the day.
  • Combination of experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent noise levels. A vulnerable sector check and criminal record check are required for this position.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is between $35,000 to $40,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. This is a permanent full-time position, with 35-40 hours of work per week. The primary language spoken in this role is English.
