We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of securing major gifts, building strategic partnerships, and developing effective fundraising plans.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement annual and multi-year fundraising plans, collaborating with our team to achieve strategic goals.
- Evaluate and enhance our current annual giving program, focusing on retention and growth within corporate, foundation, and individual donor streams.
- Oversee and expand stewardship and recognition programs to build affinity and relationships between donors and our organization.
- Build and manage a pipeline of mid-level and major donors, ensuring their needs are met and fostering long-term relationships.
- Ensure all fundraising programs and activities adhere to ethical, fiscal, and legal standards, as well as our policies and procedures for gift acceptance, donor recognition, giving programs, and gift agreements.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field, with a CFRE designation being an asset.
- A minimum of five years of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of planning and executing successful fundraising programs and events, and an understanding of financial management within a non-profit context.
- Exceptional leadership abilities, with a demonstrated aptitude for strategic planning, inspiring teams, and fostering creative approaches.
- Superior ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles within fundraising, engaging effectively with diverse communities and donors, and advocating for social justice causes.
- Advanced computer skills, including Office 365, and proficiency in technological tools and platforms, including donor database systems, with experience with DonorPerfect or similar CRM systems being considered an asset.
