Senior Financial Analyst

PavCo Corporate Office, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and generating internal and external financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record journal entries
  • Support billing and receivables management
  • Record fixed assets additions, disposals, and maintain fixed asset sub-ledger
  • Lead the preparation of consolidated Fixed Asset Continuity schedules and Capital WIPs
  • Responsible for asset tagging and inventory monitoring
  • Update monthly working papers in preparation for financial statements
  • Prepare monthly amortization schedules for contributions, revenues, and prepaid expenses
  • Liaise with external auditors and prepare audit schedules and supports as requested
  • Prepare and validate monthly account reconciliations
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and bank journal entries
  • Assist with the preparation of schedules that support note disclosures to financial statements
  • Assist with payroll GL reconciliations, cost allocations, and journal entries
  • Arrange for on-time completion and filings of GST, PST, NRT tax returns, and statistics questionnaires
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly consolidated financial reporting package
  • Generate internal and external financial reports
  • Prepare daily contribution report
  • Assist with ad-hoc accounting duties and special projects as requested

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an event-based environment
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
  • Thorough knowledge of project management tracking tools, presentation programs, and ability to prepare graphs, charts, and visual aids
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; strong computer skills in accounting software, complex spreadsheets, work order systems, and other related complex data entry
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Manage multiple issues, set priorities, work independently, and effectively under pressure
  • Model professional, ethical, and collaborative behaviors
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks with high degree of accuracy, efficiency, diplomacy, and confidentiality
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Solid knowledge of PSA and GAAP standards
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments, including various projects
  • Positive outward attitude, proactive, and creative in seeking out solutions and improvements
