About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Capital Program Planner to promote the integrity of NSH building architectural infrastructure. This role will involve strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of the Capital Programs, ensuring alignment with NSH Health Services plans and departmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate the three NSH Capital Programs: Repair & Renewal, Capital Medical Equipment, and Clinical Capital.
  • Align planning efforts with NSH Health Services plans and departmental medium and long-term health care strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate among peers and management to contribute to the planning and implementation of the three NSH Capital Programs.
  • Preliminary assessment of requirements for Major Capital program projects submitted up through NSH leadership for consideration by DHW.
  • Coordination with Major Capital Program initiatives of other Departments in their support of NSH.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and significant planning experience, preferably in healthcare. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural systems assessment, planning, design, and specification development, as well as 6 years of experience in all aspects of capital program development and implementation.

Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred. The candidate should have current knowledge of the Building Code, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Environmental regulations, and ASHRAE standards.

Hours and Compensation
  • Permanent, full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly.

The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

The hourly rate for this position is $42.94 - $53.67.
