About the Role

The Amazon Fulfillment Technologies Support Team is seeking a skilled System Development Engineer to join their team. This team supports all software applications responsible for shipment, item availability, customer promises, shipment optimization, and other functions related to fulfillment services processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix production software issues
  • Develop monitoring solutions
  • Perform software maintenance and configuration
  • Implement fixes for internally developed code (Perl, Ruby, C/C++, JAVA)
  • Perform SQL queries
  • Update, track, and resolve technical challenges
  • Build and develop tools to automate daily operational activities
  • Work alongside development on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects
  • Update and enhance current software
  • Automate support processes and document systems

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented with superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Ability to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions to detect and prevent outages
  • Ability to accurately prioritize projects and make sound judgments

Qualifications

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby)
  • Experience with tools for automation (building, testing, releasing, or monitoring)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Python scripting language
  • Experience on highly concurrent, high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems
