Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our team at The Weir Group, a leading provider of multidisciplinary engineering, testing, and consulting services. As part of our Instrumentation and Control Electronics department, you will be responsible for designing and developing technological solutions to meet the testing and evaluation needs of the Canadian Navy.
About the Job
This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled Electronic Engineer to work on various projects related to instrumentation and control electronics. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop electronic measurement and control systems, perform trials, and analyze test data in-house and in the field. You will also be required to produce test plans, documentation, and schematics, as well as write technical reports and test documents in English.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or a related field)
- Experience in instrumentation and control electronics, including design, development, and testing of electronic measurement and control systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
- Proficiency in software tools such as CAD, simulation software, and programming languages like C++ or Python
- Ability to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance, which requires Canadian citizenship and 10 years of residence in Canada
