About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Animation Team Lead to join our team at Ubisoft. As a key member of our animation department, you will be responsible for overseeing the work quality and deadlines for your team, ensuring that our games meet the highest standards of animation and storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and prioritize tasks for your team, ensuring that deliverables are met on time and to the required standard.
  • Represent the animation team and communicate effectively with other departments, such as production and design.
  • Organize and lead team meetings to discuss progress, goals, and challenges.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the game's story, gameplay, and technical/artistic constraints to provide guidance and support to your team.
  • Draft regular reports on the team's progress and recommend corrective measures to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Anticipate and recognize potential conflicts and recommend solutions to the project lead and production manager.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members on technical and artistic aspects of animation.
  • Participate in performance assessments and contribute to the development of team members.
  • Coordinate bug correction and ensure that new employees integrate smoothly into the team.
  • Help recruit new team members and contribute to the development of the animation team.

Requirements

  • Experience in animation and leadership, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Participation in at least one complete game production or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership, time management, and priority management skills.
  • Ability to assemble productive teams and manage conflicts effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Resourcefulness in problem-solving and ability to delegate tasks effectively.
  • Stress and change management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Managerial courage and a sense of initiative, with the ability to take ownership of projects and tasks.
  • Database knowledge, including JIRA and Perforce, is an asset.
  • Knowledge of real-time 3D engines and level editors is also an asset.
