Job Title: Clinical Oncology Nurse

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Oncology Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide holistic nursing care to oncology patients, utilizing evidence-based practice to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, and treatment coordination.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, injections, and IV fluids as required by the care plan, monitoring patient reactions and changes in physical or mental status.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, documenting patient information, health care history, and nursing assessments.
  • Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and Centre directives.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and ability to apply evidence-based practice in oncology nursing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015) and other related reports.
