About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Building Projects Technician to join our team at Mr. Handyman. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers by completing small residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate project cost estimates for assigned projects, taking into account labor hours and materials consumption.
  • Independently complete assigned projects, ensuring they meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to manage expectations and provide recommendations for unforeseen changes.
  • Deliver a great customer experience, following the Mr. Handyman Way, to create life-long customers.
Performance Metrics
  • Customer Satisfaction (NPS): Encourage customers to complete surveys to rate their satisfaction with our service.
  • Revenue Target: Meet or exceed revenue targets by finding additional ways to provide value to customers.
  • Effective Billing Rate: Accurately invoice customers, source necessary materials, and collect payments.
  • Recall Percentage: Ensure all work is done right the first time, guaranteeing customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience working independently on small projects, such as kitchen, bathroom, and exterior building projects.
  • Ability to procure necessary materials and communicate effectively with customers.
  • Knowledge of building codes and ability to work safely at heights.
  • Professional appearance and maintenance of company-provided vehicle.
Benefits and Pay

Compensation is based on billable hours and bonus. The expected pay range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000, dependent on technical and customer skills. The company will also pay a 4% vacation allowance and match CPP and EI contributions as required by law.
