Job Title: Clinical Nutritionist

Overview of the Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate clinical nutritionist to join our healthcare team at Dr. Goodenowe's Perpetual Health Centre in Moose Jaw, SK. Our centre provides innovative health solutions for managing various chronic diseases and promoting overall wellness.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 per year (based on 40 hours/week), plus overtime pay

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing personalized nutrition therapy for patients with diverse health conditions. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of human physiology, nutrition science, and dietary interventions to promote optimal health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments of patients, including medical history, dietary habits, and lifestyle factors.
  • Develop tailored nutrition plans based on individual needs, health goals, and medical conditions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition therapy, making adjustments as needed.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients on the importance of nutrition in maintaining health and managing disease.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients.
  • Stay current with emerging research and trends in clinical nutrition to provide evidence-based recommendations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, the successful candidate should possess:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) is preferred.
  • Clinical experience in a healthcare setting working with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to educate and motivate patients to adopt healthy lifestyle changes.
  • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy for chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity.
