About the Role

The Senior Credit Analyst position is a key role within the Credit Monitoring Team at FHLB Des Moines. As a Senior Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day support to the Portfolio Manager, analyzing complex financial data, and developing high-quality reports and presentations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret financial data from various sources, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate the performance of corporate debt and equity investments.
  • Prepare and present high-quality reports and presentations to senior management, utilizing data visualization tools to present complex financial information.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education required (accounting or finance preferred but not required).
  • MBA degree is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • CFA credential is a plus, but not required.
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience in valuation services, private equity, leveraged finance, venture capital, and/or investment banking.
  • In-depth understanding of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Understanding of legal documents, including credit agreements and loan documents.
  • Proven problem-solving ability, with the capacity to analyze complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and/or management experience, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, while still being able to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
  • Technologically savvy, with an expert knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Impeccable integrity and trustworthiness, with a strong commitment to ethical behavior.
