Job Overview

The North West Company is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Supervisor to lead a team of staff responsible for managing inventory and quality control operations at the Winnipeg Logistics Service Centre (WLSC). About the Role

This is a regular full-time position working Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. As the Inventory Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring daily reports, cycle count tracking, and making adjustments as required;
  • Planning, scheduling, and tracking attendance for payroll purposes;
  • Overseeing and managing the inventory control team;
  • Managing label negotiations, ordering, and invoicing;
  • Preparing seasonal and sealift/winter road, last-in-first-out (LIFO), and seasonal reports.
Responsibilities

You will create and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new and existing processes within the department, assist with annual inventory reporting, liaise between Congebec and NWC, and maintain positive relationships with suppliers. Additionally, you will support the Manager, Inventory Control, with day-to-day tasks.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Supervisory experience and/or proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a team for continual improvement and experience in delegating and task assignment;
  • Knowledgeable in navigating through Warehouse Management Systems or other similar programs;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service;
  • Able to solve problems and think critically;
  • Must possess detail consciousness while demonstrating a high level of accuracy;
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills;
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently to complete responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is approximately $65,000 per year, plus benefits. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes opportunities for growth and development throughout the company.
