Job Overview

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking an experienced Recreation Therapist to join our Long Term Care Team at Little Mountain Place in Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide recreation therapy services in designated long term care settings/programs focused on clients/residents, and coordinate quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
  • To work in a team-based environment, ensuring the provision of recreation therapy services, and providing leadership to students, staff, and volunteers.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:

  • Baccalaureate in Therapeutic Recreation or Leisure Studies from an accredited university.

Experience:

  • Two years' recent experience working with the designated population group, in the applicable program area/setting, including one year's experience supervising staff or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Certifications/Credentials:

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency First Aid.
  • Eligible for certification and CTRS credential with National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
