Primary Care Paramedic

Job Summary:
Total Safety is seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Paramedic to join our team as a Fire and Medical Response Team Lead. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for responding to emergencies, assessing situations, and applying appropriate protocols to ensure the safety of our clients and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to site emergencies, including fires, technical rescues, hazmat incidents, and medical emergencies.
- Take a leadership role in managing the emergency response team, ensuring the safety of all responders.
- Responsible for the safe operation of emergency services equipment, including testing and maintenance.
- Develop and implement department-specific protocols and training to meet the requirements for safe and efficient operation.
- Provide leadership and training to the emergency response team, ensuring they are equipped to handle a variety of emergency situations.
- Assess risk related to fire protection impairments and develop contingency plans to mitigate.
- Develop rescue plans as required for high-risk work.
- Act as an ambassador for health and safety, promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
- Remain current with industry skills, education, and practices involving fire, rescue, and medical response.
Requirements:
- Certified as NFPA 1001 level 2 from an International Fire Services Accreditation Council (IFSAC) or Pro board accredited facility.
- Certified and registered through Alberta College of Paramedics to work in Alberta as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP).
- Class 3 drivers' license, with Q endorsement.
- Experience in emergency response, preferably in a refinery, upgrader, or chemical plant.
