Job Title: Student Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Student Support Specialist to join our team at East Vancouver Taekwondo. As a key member of our administrative team, you will play a vital role in supporting the settlement and integration of newcomers and refugees into our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement new administrative procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Review and evaluate new administrative procedures to ensure they meet the needs of our clients.
  • Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met.
  • Carry out administrative activities of the establishment, including data entry and report preparation.
  • Co-ordinate and plan for office services, including accommodation, relocation, equipment, supplies, and maintenance.
  • Assist in the preparation of operating budgets and maintain inventory and budgetary controls.
  • Assemble data and prepare periodic and special reports, manuals, and correspondence.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records.
  • Oversee and co-ordinate office administrative procedures to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Resolve conflict situations and provide coaching and mentoring to staff.
  • Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees, including facilitating access to community resources and language training.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations to promote cultural competency and awareness.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software.
Work Environment:

Our office is located in East Vancouver, and the successful candidate will be required to work 30-40 hours per week. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.
