Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Student Support Specialist to join our team at East Vancouver Taekwondo. The successful candidate will provide support to students in their educational and employment journey, with a focus on newcomers and refugees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with immediate settlement needs, such as housing, transportation, and childcare.
  • Support students in accessing community resources, language training, and skills training.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
  • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees.
  • Coordinate and plan for office services, including accommodation, relocation, equipment, supplies, and maintenance.
  • Assist in the preparation of operating budgets and maintain inventory and budgetary controls.
  • Assemble data and prepare periodic and special reports, manuals, and correspondence.
  • Perform data entry and oversee and coordinate office administrative procedures.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Permanent position with 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • Fluent in English.
