Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Language Instructor to join our team of professionals who work with adult immigrants and refugees to improve their language skills and facilitate their integration into Canadian society.

">

Key Responsibilities

">

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing learners' needs, developing and delivering language instruction programs, and ensuring that instruction and assessment are aligned with the Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) approach.

">

They will also be required to report on learners' progress, evaluate the program regularly, and work collaboratively with a team of instructors and settlement workers.

">

In addition, they will be expected to maintain accurate program records and statistics, prepare lesson plans and reports, and actively participate in supervision meetings.

Requirements and Qualifications

">

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a university graduate degree in Education or Linguistics, plus TESL Ontario certification.

">

They must also have a minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching English as a second language, as well as experience in second language acquisition curriculum development, assessment, and evaluation.

">

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the CLB framework, learner assessment tools, and placement guidelines, as well as experience working in a multicultural organization serving diverse ethno-cultural communities.
