Job Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based medical/scientific expert who engages with healthcare providers to provide balanced education on the appropriate use of Incyte marketed products, understand the evolving therapeutic landscape, and support research collaborations across the Incyte portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key investigators, institutions, and groups to ensure safe and effective use of company products.
  • Provide education to the medical community on Incyte products and disease areas of focus.
  • Enhance company visibility and professional interaction with current and future oncology leaders.
  • Identify clinical research opportunities consistent with company objectives.
  • Represent the primary territory contact for the investigator-initiated research program, facilitating the process from concept submission through publication.
  • Communicate key clinical and research insights from oncology leaders to shape company research and ensure safe and appropriate use of Incyte marketed products.
  • Maintain a high level of clinical and scientific expertise through ongoing training and self-education.
  • Gather and disseminate competitive intelligence in a compliant manner.
  • Collaborate with the North America and Global Medical Affairs teams and mentor other MSL team members.
  • Proactively collaborate with the cross-functional Incyte Canada team, including Market Access and Commercial.
  • Contribute to and provide medical leadership for NA and Global Medical Affairs and Development programs/projects.
  • Provide responses to unsolicited requests for medical information, often in collaboration with Medical Information Services personnel.
  • Complete accurate and timely reports, project plans, and required documentation requests.
Qualifications
  • An advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) with prior experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.
  • Prior MSL or relevant experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years hematology/oncology experience is strongly preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of oncology is an asset.
  • Clinical research experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable treatment, compliance, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and apply knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Ability to summarize complex scientific information and present in a clear, concise, confident, and scientifically accurate and balanced manner to a range of audiences.
  • Ability to network and partner with external customers, including medical thought leaders, academic institutions, research consortia, and practice networks.
  • Thrives in a team environment and enjoys cross-functional collaboration; positively contributes to team culture.
  • Possesses demonstrable effective leadership skills (by example and through accomplishments), and is able to step forward to handle challenges within scope of authority.
  • Demonstrates deep therapeutic competency; stays abreast of trends and new information in the therapeutic/translational science area, as well as the profession at large.
  • Approximately 70% domestic travel is required.
  • Fluency in both French and English is required for roles in the province of Quebec.
  • Incumbent must reside in the province for the specific position.
