Job Purpose:

GSK Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team in the Vaccines and Respiratory therapeutic areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage with healthcare practitioners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical information and support to customers and business partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the MSL team to achieve excellence in medical science liaison capability, ensuring good governance and competency.
  • Provide authoritative medical and ethical opinions to support the MSL team and other colleagues across GSK.
  • Develop and deliver Medical Affairs Plans, including key data generation plans, scientific engagement plans, and customer engagement plans.
  • Monitor the performance of the MSL team and implement an effective control framework to assure excellence in Medical Affairs governance and compliance.
  • Identify and address MSL training and development requirements.
  • Provide managerial oversight of MSL activities and implement an effective control framework to assure excellence in Medical Affairs governance and compliance.
  • Work with Medical Leadership to ensure consistency in MSL ways of working across the business.
Requirements:
  • Scientific/medical background and relevant degrees with at least 3-5 years Pharmaceutical industry experience required.
  • Previous experience managing and developing direct reports is desirable.
  • Mastery of customer engagement - proven customer interface experience with demonstrated ability to manage relationships with External Experts.
  • Mastery in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration (including commercial and medical education teams).
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
  • Previous experience managing field-based teams within a matrixed organization.
