Job Details

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician with Propak Energy Services (PES) is responsible for the maintenance, repair, start-up, overhaul, and troubleshooting of gas powered engines, gas compressors, and packages. The position requires a strong commitment to safety and involves training and mentoring employees in mechanical trades.

This role is critical in establishing and maintaining client relationships and providing value to the company's customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Apply knowledge of gas compression packages to optimize equipment run times.
  2. Interpret flow sheets and drawings.
  3. Demonstrate understanding of mounting and alignment, commissioning, package operations, mechanical components, instrumentation, and electronics.
  4. Perform in-shop startups, overhauls, repairs, warranty work, etc.
  5. Troubleshoot engine/compressor problems.
  6. Diagnose and troubleshoot highly complex problems and provide recommendations to the Service Coordinator.
  7. Verify all proper settings and adjustments.
  8. Determine priorities on unit repairs.
  9. Work directly with management on customer concerns.
  10. Maintain excellent documentation of mechanical services.
  11. Complete and submit all paperwork in a timely fashion.
  12. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of shop working areas.

Prerequisites

Education

  1. Completion of Heavy-Duty Technician or Millwright apprenticeship program, Heavy Duty Technician or Millwright license holder, or equivalent experience.
  2. High School diploma.

Experience

  1. 5+ years' Heavy-Duty Technician or Millwright experience in oil and gas compression.
  2. Basic computer skills.

Other

  1. Must supply personal tooling up to 3⁄4" drive sockets.
  2. Must have a complete understanding of engine/compressor control systems.
  3. Must understand, agree to, and comply with all company safety and driving policies when required.
  4. Must be able to perform tasks with little or no supervision.
