Job Summary

The Garage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, including customer service, site visits, and communication with trades and clients. They will also provide follow-up customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.

This is a Monday to Friday 8-5 position, with some weekend or evening time required to accommodate client and trade schedules and complete reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement garage and garage suite designs based on customer needs and requirements.
  2. Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and site visits.
  3. Prepare and execute client contracts, including disclaimer and notes of interest.
  4. Adjust contracts and designs with Change Orders to meet the changing needs of clients.
  5. Work with the Project Manager to ensure design is implemented correctly.
  6. Oversee and manage design and sales staff to ensure design has been implemented with all contract components.
  7. Maintain an organized and accessible file system.
  8. Use available data to accurately forecast sales and set appropriate performance goals.
  9. Complete market research and monitor competitors to adjust sales and marketing strategy for maximum success.
  10. Compile daily lists of leads and delegate individual leads to sales team associates for follow up.
  11. Deliver excellent customer service that ensures ongoing sales and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  12. Develop and maintain positive relationships with key clients, including negotiating and closing contracts.
  13. Maintain the goals and objectives of the Quality Management System.
  14. Follow up with clients and keep all process transparent.
  15. Provide administrative assistance to executives and management team members as required.
Qualifications
  1. Technical Diploma in Architecture, Design/Drafting, Construction Engineering or related field.
  2. Experience with AutoCAD and or MiTek Software an asset.
  3. Comprehensive experience with Microsoft Office as this is a daily use.
  4. Knowledge of construction terminology, building technology and local codes.
  5. Advanced communication skills.
  6. Strong decision-making abilities.
  7. Ability to multitask and switch focus quickly and seamlessly.
  8. Ability to do material take-offs.
  9. Must have own vehicle and will travel to job sites to assess site and job components and costs.
  10. Oversee building schedule and inventory tracking, purchase orders and delivery.
  11. Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective clients.
  12. Demonstrated skill in negotiating and closing on sales contracts.
  13. Interpersonal communication skills to supervise a team of three support staff.
  14. Must be a team player and keep the team involved and up to date on all job changes as they occur.
  15. Point of sale system POS ECI Spruce to create orders, send PO's, material tracking, final costing for jobs is used. Knowledge of the software an advantage but will train.
  16. Work with truss division or garage truss designer to design and build roof trusses to customer specs.
  17. Converse with clients, trades, suppliers, team members.
  18. Review trade invoices for payment approval and submit to accounting department. [Initial review done by team member.]
  19. Will monitor material and trade costs to decide when to update garage price book [usually reviewed twice a year].
  20. Annual trade review in January to assess trades for price and job satisfaction for coming year.
  21. Review media contacts to maintain up to date postings.
  22. Help to write Facebook posts.
  23. Review website. Possible website updates. Knowledge of WORDPRESS an asset.
  24. Will work closely with team members to process and resolve quotes, follow up, sales calls, seamless scheduling, design, material supply- inventory, customer issues, site visits, and overall customer support.
  25. Site visits are mandatory for any concrete, gas line, or demolition work. Most build jobs will require an initial site visit and interim site visits to monitor progress of trades and build process, also to take pictures for records, media posting, and advertising. Personal Vehicle for site visits will be required.
  26. Final follow up to assess customer satisfaction and possibly ask for a customer review posted on media.
