About the Opportunity

The Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in facilitating, restoring, and maintaining patients' optimal level of function in self-care, productivity, and leisure. Working under the supervision of the Health Services Manager, the OT collaborates with clients, caregivers, and family members to establish individualized treatment plans and goals. This position requires excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree from a recognized School of Occupational Therapy, be licensed with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia, and possess at least two years of relevant experience. Additionally, the candidate should have knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), counseling skills, and experience conducting individual and group treatment. Familiarity with various psychotherapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, is also an asset.

Hours

This is a long-assignment full-time position, with 75 hours biweekly. The assignment length is approximately 9 months, and dates are subject to change.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $33.97 - $42.89. Additionally, they may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
