About This Position
Black & McDonald's Ottawa team is growing, and we're looking for a skilled Mechanical Project Cost Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating and a passion for leading teams in pursuit of a strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labor, and equipment for construction projects.
- Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards, and conduct negotiations.
- Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects regarding tenders.
- Participate in site reviews, tender reviews, tender hand-offs, project closings, and operational meetings with the Estimating & Proposals Division Manager, Project Manager, and Purchasing as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related discipline) or College technical Diploma or related experience.
- 3-5 years of estimating experience for related construction/industrial projects.
- Proven experience with industry standards and cost estimating software.
