We are seeking an experienced Engineering Services Director to lead our team of multi-disciplined engineers and technicians in providing engineering services to the Royal Canadian Navy.

Job Description:

This is a hybrid position located in Halifax, NS, reporting to the LCMM and Engineering Manager. As the Engineering Services Director, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the coastal Engineering presence for in-service programs, coordinating and executing engineering activities, and keeping the Formation Technical Authority apprised of any risks associated with the platforms.

The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in a post-graduate engineering role, with a minimum of 5 years in the Canadian naval or maritime industry. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Naval Architecture is required, along with registration as a Professional Engineer in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the LCMM and Engineering Manager in managing and maintaining the coastal Engineering presence for in-service programs
  • Responsible and accountable for the coordination and execution of engineering activities
  • Provides direction on way forward for Corrective Maintenance activities and associated Certification requirements
  • Exercises engineering authority as delegated within the In-Service Programs
  • Liaises directly with the customer, Enterprise stakeholders, the In-Service Technical Support Network, and other entities associated with the delivery of In-Service Support services
Requirements:
  • 10 years of experience in a post-graduate engineering role, with a minimum of 5 years in the Canadian naval or maritime industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Naval Architecture
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Nova Scotia, Canada
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-graduate or technical qualifications and experience in Systems Engineering processes
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience
  • Experience in delivering marine in-service support of operational assets
Physical Demands:

Work in office, dockyards, and on board Naval ships alongside in harbour or at sea; may require undertaking inspections in machinery spaces of Naval ships involving bending and twisting.

Schedule: 40 hours per week.
