Senior Optical Process Engineer

Sanmina is seeking a highly skilled Senior Optical Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our product solutions development team, you will provide process engineering solutions in support of product development, NPI, and manufacturing of various optical product families.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with optical product design and development teams to provide process engineering solutions for new product development, NPI, and manufacturing support.
- Support new technology research and development related to optical process solutions.
- Manage projects and timelines to meet milestones on various customer projects.
- Develop active alignment recipes on automated optical alignment systems for free space optics, grating, coupling, edge coupling, fiber arrays, etc.
- Troubleshoot and analyze process performance problems, providing technical guidance to less experienced team members.
- Conduct research into complex engineering problems to develop new operating policies, capabilities, and processes.
- Assist the Process Engineering team in delivering on accountabilities, taking ownership of processes under control.
- Help create Process Assembly documentation and conceptualize tooling and fixtures.
- Perform qualification on new processes being introduced, implement and suggest engineering changes.
- Research, procure, and accept new equipment for continuously evolving technologies.
- Support customer NPI builds within tight timelines, providing DFx feedback to internal design teams and external customers to optimize manufacturability and increase yields and throughput.
- University degree in Engineering.
- 8+ years' experience in a Process or Manufacturing Engineering role.
- Experience with active optical alignment of free space optics, with ficonTEC automated aligners being a strong asset.
- Experience with equipment programming on different pieces of equipment.
- Background in executing 'best practice' process control.
- Understanding of operating methodologies in an electronics assembly environment.
- Experience with implementing Engineering changes.
- Experience with organizing and structuring file folders and naming conventions for reference.
- Experience with Labview or other motion control software programming.
- Hands-on build experience, handling bare dies or miniature components with tweezers, using microscopes, camera systems, etc.
- Experience with laser welding.
- Experience establishing active alignment requirements and setup of eng bench type systems.
- Experience with Auto cad/SolidWorks.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with DFM and FMEA.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
