Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Assistant to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a 2nd-year apprentice, you will assist our experienced plumbers in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and heating systems in a large manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman Plumbers in installation, maintenance, and repairs of plumbing and heating systems.
- Work under the supervision of experienced plumbers and as part of a team.
- Develop skills in braze/soldering copper pipe, working with PVC pipe, and using hand and power tools.
- Participate in clean-ups to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.
- Perform duties in accordance with our safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
Requirements
- Registered as an apprentice in Alberta and enrolled in a recognized trade school.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Experience with routine electrical maintenance operations is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
Working Conditions
- Year-round work in an indoor environment.
- Work in a town setting with physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
- Adhere to safety policies and wear protective equipment.
- Overtime as required.
