Job Summary

The York Region District School Board is seeking a School Assistant to provide supervisory support to teaching staff during peak or critical periods of the school day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise students during lunch periods and as needed by the school
  • Provide support to teaching staff during peak or critical periods of the school day
  • Complete online health and safety training prior to start date
  • Participate in school in-service training
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Selection Criteria
  • Relevant experience working with children and youth
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
