Job Summary

This Safety Consultant position is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our team at Health Careers in Sask. As a key member of our Quality & Safety portfolio, you will play a crucial role in promoting and maintaining the health and safety of patients and staff.

About the Role

The Safety Consultant will be responsible for applying safety practices and standards to protect and promote the health and safety of the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). This includes implementing the SHA Management System to support the existing Safety Program and exceeding minimum standards in Health & Safety.

Main Responsibilities
  • Apply safety practices and standards to protect and promote the health and safety of the SHA
  • Implement the SHA Management System to support the existing Safety Program
  • Exceed minimum standards in Health & Safety
  • Ensure consistent application of patient and staff safety legislation, regulations, and practices
  • Maintain quality and safety as outlined in the SHA Quality & Safety Plan
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

Experience
  • Experience in a discipline-related role in the specific department/area/program
  • Experience in healthcare
Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
Education and Training
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Undergraduate degree in a health-related field
Competencies and Skills

  • Analytical skills
  • Mobilize people, inspire, and lead by example
  • Critical thinking skills
Work Environment
