**Position Overview:**
The Healthcare Support Specialist is an essential part of the Environmental Services team at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized unit, which contributes to a positive patient experience and a healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Keeping the unit clean, disposing of waste, and cleaning equipment and patient rooms.
- Managing stock levels of clinical, linen, and cleaning supplies on the unit.
- Identifying and reporting areas that require special attention and safety hazards to the Supervisor/Manager.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.
Qualifications:
- Grade 10 or equivalent.
- At least six months experience in cleaning duties.
- Familiarity with mechanical equipment and WHMIS regulations.
- Basic computer skills and data-entry abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
