Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as the Director at Camp Cedarwood, a ministry of Youth for Christ Canada. The Director will play a vital role in the success of the camp, providing leadership and oversight to the development and implementation of ministry programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Development and Implementation: Provide leadership to the development and implementation of Camp Cedarwood ministry programs, supporting, equipping, and empowering a team of staff and volunteers to accomplish the mission of the camp.
  2. Team Management: Develop and lead a team to manage the 5 key departments of the camp, including Ministry, Property/Maintenance, Food Services, Hospitality, and Administration.
  3. Site Stewardship: Ensure that the Camp Cedarwood site is properly stewarded and maintained to fulfill its purpose in accomplishing the mission.
  4. Leadership and Oversight: Work alongside YFC Senior leadership, giving oversight and direction to all areas of managing and overseeing the camp operations.
  5. Guest and Camper Experience: Ensure that YFC's mission is supported in all areas of camper and guest interactions year-round.
  6. Staff and Volunteer Development: Actively work to promote and grow the staff and volunteer team at camp.

Requirements:

  1. Personal Qualities: Maintain a close, intimate relationship with God as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
  2. Church Involvement: Be an active participant in the life of a local church.
  3. Organizational Affiliation: Affirm and support our organization's Community Covenant and Statement of Faith, and be committed to YFC's mission.
  4. Flexibility and Adaptability: Able to live and work in a camp environment during part of the year while being flexible and patient in nature.
  5. Education and Experience: A post-secondary or Bible School education and a minimum of one year of ministry leadership experience would be an asset.
  6. Core Values: Embrace YFC's core values with a strong heart for evangelism.
  7. Communication and Organizational Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
  8. Initiative and Attention to Detail: Take initiative, pay close attention to details, and be willing to adapt.
  9. Teamwork and Project Management: Able to work well in a team as well as on your own, and manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
