We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team at Fallsview Glazing Contractors Inc. in Canada. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary of CAD $85,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements, and utilizing quantity take-off procedures. They will also analyze tenders and recommend awards, as well as prepare and maintain directories of supplies and trade contractors.
In addition, the candidate will liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. A valid driver's license and own vehicle are required, with willingness to travel and relocate.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in computer software systems, including CADD and MS Project
- Strong attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colours
