About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Educational Assistant to join our team at First Step Kids. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Student Learning
    • Accompany students during school and extracurricular activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
    • Assist students individually or in small groups with assignments and reinforce learning and retention concepts under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
  • Assist with Classroom Operations
    • Assist in the school library or office with administrative tasks.
    • Help with classroom inventory and organization.
  • Supervise and Monitor Students
    • Supervise students during school and extracurricular activities.
    • Monitor students during recess and lunch hour to ensure their safety.
  • Communicate with Teachers and Parents
    • Monitor and report student progress to the classroom teacher.
    • Communicate with parents and teachers to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.
  • Other Duties
    • Perform other duties assigned by the school principal to support the educational and personal growth of our students.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience
    • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Organizational and time management skills.
