Project Cost Manager for Oil and Gas Projects

Agilus Work Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team in Calgary, Alberta.
About the RoleThe Senior Estimator will be responsible for managing estimates for new project opportunities from proposal through to award. This includes reviewing and understanding contract documents, specifications, and drawings for projects being tendered. The successful candidate will also be responsible for pricing work and material take-offs, pricing materials, equipment, and sub-trades.
- Lead Estimate Development: Lead the build-up of multidiscipline estimates that may include Engineering, Fabrication, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Start-Up depending on project requirements.
- Proposal Review: Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
- Cost Reporting: Prepare and present project cost reports to internal and external stakeholders, including working with clients through any clarifications.
- Procedure Development: Develop, maintain, and improve procedures, databases, early phase cost models, templates, and tools for cost estimating.
- Risk Assessment: Perform cost risk assessment and probabilistic simulations to establish project contingency and project reserve.
- Mentorship: Mentor, provide guidance, and periodically manage junior and intermediate estimating staff as required.
- Technical Expertise: Possess advanced knowledge of MS Office, specifically MS Excel, including the ability to write advanced formulas and use pivot tables to perform calculations. Additionally, possess advanced technical knowledge of cost estimating, CIQS, and AACE guidelines and best practices, engineering design, construction practices, and procurement for major projects.
- Industry Knowledge: Have advanced knowledge of estimating disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, and industry costing software, which would be considered an asset.
