Job Overview

At Astra North Infoteck Inc., we are seeking a skilled Java DevOps Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development and experience with DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide packaging instructions to our software rollout teams for key software used by our development teams.

• Test software rollout packages to ensure they work on various configurations, such as Windows and macOS.

• Build example applications and pipelines for use by development teams when onboarding and training new members.

• Build applications in Java for automating processes in a modular way using APIs built on the Sun Life API platform.

• Create pipeline code in technology-appropriate scripting or programming languages depending on the context of the technology being delivered.

• Collaborate with team members to deliver fully automated CI/CD systems.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of Java development experience with a full application development life cycle.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a strong collaborative multi-site team.

• Experience with scripting languages such as Groovy and Shell.

• Working knowledge of Java, J2EE, Liberty, Tomcat, Eclipse, Microsoft .NET, Unix, Windows Server, IIS, IBM DevOps.

• Experience with source code management tools such as Bitbucket, Git, Jenkins, Maven.

Desirable Skills:

• DevOps background with a security and automation mindset.

• Knowledge of automated deployment tools such as Ansible and Chef.

• Experience with security tools like SonarQube, JFrog XRay, and Burpsuite.

• Knowledge of IaaS/PaaS/SaaS deployment and hardware and application virtualization platforms.

• Agile experience.
