Job Title: DevOps Java Engineer

Astra North Infoteck Inc. is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Java Engineer to join our team. As a DevOps Java Engineer, you will be responsible for providing packaging instructions to our software rollout teams, testing software rollout packages, and building example applications and pipelines for use by applications development teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide packaging instructions to software rollout teams for key software needed by development teams.
  • Test software rollout packages to ensure they work on various configurations.
  • Build example applications and pipelines for use by applications development teams.
  • Build applications in Java for automating processes in a modular way using APIs.
  • Create pipeline code in scripting or programming languages depending on the context of the technology being delivered.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver fully automated CI/CD systems.
  • Deploy, configure, manage, and perform ongoing maintenance of DevOps pipeline, metrics gathering, and tools automation code.
  • Be the custodian of shared DevOps pipeline code and scripts for multiple technologies.
  • Provide, maintain, and manage the appropriate release policy, processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Create or improve automated deployment processes, techniques, and tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical operational issues related to DevOps pipeline.
  • Ensure information security standards and requirements are incorporated into all solutions.
  • Stay current with trends in emerging technologies and how they could apply to Astra North Infoteck Inc.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of Java development experience with full application development life cycle.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a strong collaborative multi-site team.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Groovy and Shell.
  • Working knowledge of Java, J2EE, Liberty, Tomcat, Eclipse, Microsoft .NET, Unix, Windows Server, IIS, IBM DevOps.
  • Experience with source code management tools such as Bitbucket, Git, Jenkins, Maven.
Desirable Skills:
  • DevOps background with security and automation mindset.
  • Knowledge of automated deployment (e.g. Ansible, Chef).
  • Knowledge of security tools such as SonarQube, JFrog XRay, Burpsuite.
  • IaaS/PaaS/SaaS deployment knowledge.
  • Hardware and application virtualization platform experience.
  • Knowledge of Financial and Insurance industries.
  • Agile experience.
