Job Summary:

The Manitoba Métis Federation is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Store Associate to join our team at the Red River Métis Marketplace. As a Store Associate, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service, promoting products, and maintaining a positive store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, providing product suggestions and recommendations.
  • Answer customer questions regarding merchandising, pricing, and promotions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Process and organize daily shipments and set-up of the retail area, maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Ensure all inventory is processed, priced, and put away, maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Complete sales by accepting cash, credit cards, or debit payments, ensuring accuracy of transactions.
  • Work with store management to devise ways to maximize store sales, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options, recommending new processes or systems for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Associate, Sales Representative, or similar role.
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Hands-on experience with POS transactions.
  • Ability to create and maintain good relationships with vendors, suppliers, and Red River Métis Artisans.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Experience working with boards and/or committees is preferred.
  • Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, MMF programs, and services is a definite asset.
  • Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
